Dalyan holidays take their name from the Dalyan River that runs through the town. This placid blue snake of river is popular with boat tours that give visitors the opportunity to get a better look at the green banks and quaint farmhouses that line it. Dalyan itself means “Fishing weir.” You will also find that fishing on Dalyan holidays is a large and thriving industry here and the town itself has a great seafaring heritage.

Logger head turtles favour Dalyan’s soft powdery sands to lay their eggs on underneath its warm surface. The turtle species, also known as Caretta caretta, are celebrated around the town in statues and souvenirs. You are more likely to see the turtles around the beach between May and September where they can breed on multiple occasions during this time. It is not advised to disturb the turtles or eggs. The beach where the turtles breed on all inclusive Dalyan holidays is seven and a half miles away from the centre of town. You do not have to pay an entrance fee but you may have to purchase a ticket to park a hire car here.
